They still made all of their products in America with many of the same time-honored smithing techniques that our Founding Fathers would have recognized. Thank you for visiting the Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s website! Since 2013, the WVM has been a proud Smithsonian Affiliate. However, the Museum’s roots reach back far deeper to 1901. In that year Wisconsin’s Civil War veterans opened the GAR Memorial Hall in the State Capitol building. The Museum exists to acknowledge, commemorate, and affirm the role Wisconsin veterans have played in our nation’s life. The WVM is an educational activity of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. All Purchases, both here online and in-person at the Museum in Madison, Wisconsin, help us to fulfill our mission.
