Thank you for visiting the Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s website! Since 2013, the WVM has been a proud Smithsonian Affiliate. However, the Museum’s roots reach back far deeper to 1901. In that year Wisconsin’s Civil War veterans opened the GAR Memorial Hall in the State Capitol building. The Museum exists to acknowledge, commemorate, and affirm the role Wisconsin veterans have played in our nation’s life.
